Graduation Year: 2013
Major: Journalism
Occupation: Writer, University of Pennsylvania
Describe your current occupation and if applicable, how was Temple the launchpad for your current position?
I manage executive communications in the central communications office at Penn. On a daily basis, I am reporting, writing, editing, designing, and managing—all skills I learned and practiced throughout my time at Klein. Fun fact: I landed in this specific office thanks to a friend I made through The Temple News. (Owls really are everywhere!)
Why do you support Temple University and serve on the Klein Alumni Association Board?
I tell people all the time: I wouldn’t trade my undergraduate education for anything. For students interested in journalism, the experiences inside and outside of the classroom are truly unmatched. It is so exciting to give back in such a meaningful way to the institution that has, in countless ways, impacted my life.
What excites you about the Lew Klein College of Media and Communication?
Temple students are the definition of grit. We work hard for what we care about. I am excited that year after year Klein is graduating brilliant, passionate people who are genuinely dedicated to their craft and determined to do good by society, even with all its twists and turns.
What advice could you give someone looking to become more engaged with Klein College?
You’re a Klein alum so you’re used to trying new things. Chances are it will be well worth it.
What was your favorite memory while a student at Temple?
Working as a student foreign correspondent in South Africa for a summer.
