High School Summer Media Program

Explore Your Future Now

Klein College’s pre-college summer workshops will teach you the basics of media—including broadcasting, reporting and writing—and how to think about projects through the lens of the university’s main laboratory of Philadelphia.

The pre-college workshops will be held at Klein College for students entering grades 10, 11 or 12, offering a chance to experience Temple University academics while exploring potential college majors through non-credit workshops.

Students in Temple's pre-college workshops can do the following:

  • Attend two non-credit workshops (one in the morning and one in the afternoon, topics vary depending on dates)

  • Develop their interests in various academic fields

  • Build their confidence and sense of independence

  • Engage in interactive, project-based learning

  • Make new friends and build community with other students from diverse backgrounds.

The pre-college workshops offer three two-week sessions throughout the summer. All Klein College sessions will be held in person at Annenberg Hall, located at 2020 N. 13th Street between Norris and Diamond Streets. The sessions will be held:

  • June 26–July 7, 2023

  • July 10–July 21, 2023

  • July 24–August 4, 2023

Information on the workshop descriptions can be found here.

Students can choose to add optional housing and meal plans. Scholarships are available and prioritized for students living and going to high school in Philadelphia.

Klein College isn’t the only school or college at Temple offering these opportunities. There are over 40 pre-college workshops facilitated by faculty across most of our 17 schools and colleges.
