• Meet weekly with eight–10 assigned mentees for a 50-minute face-to-face or online session.
• Facilitate open discussions on making the transition to college life.
• Share the culture of Klein College.
• Connect students to the resources and support services available at Temple.
• Encourage students to participate in cocurricular activities.
• Complete monthly reports regarding mentee challenges, engagements and progress.

• Conduct regular check-in’s with the student success program coordinator to assess the status of the relationship and discuss challenges.
• Meet with other peer mentors to brainstorm best practices and troubleshoot common or unique challenges.

• Attend all onboarding and ongoing professional trainings.
• Collaborate with the vice dean for student success and the student success program coordinator to ensure effective program management. 
• Work with supervisors to measure success.

Peer mentors must

• be available for 15–20 hours of training and onboarding in August, and
• work five hours per week during both the fall and spring semesters.

Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate Klein degree program and demonstrate experience

• being a leader among their peers,
• providing support and resources to others, and
• working on a team.

Strong candidates will have capacity with the following aptitudes.

• Supporting student and peer success
• Understanding the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion

Qualified applicants must 

• be in good academic standing with the university,
• have a 2.75 or higher GPA,
• be in good financial standing with the university, and 
• have no pending or unresolved student conduct violations.
