Biography

Jing is a PhD student in Klein College’s media and communication doctoral program. She uses mixed methods to study the social roles and behavioral mechanisms of Reddit communities. Aside from understanding the dynamics of Reddit communities, she is interested in developing a framework predicting the impact of online opinions. Jing sees using computational tools effectively as an extension of the mind and recognizes the importance of applied work. She is also excited about the rapid development of machine learning and the prospects of integrating machine learning into her research. Recent research has appeared in the Journal of Communication Pedagogy. 

She holds a degree in literature from Huaihai Institute of Technology and a master’s in communication and certificate of advanced graduate study from Clark University.
