Biography
PhD student Noura Alduaijani is interested in how the young generation in the Arabic-speaking world uses new media to communicate taboos and controversial issues. She is also interested in identity construction through social media, more specifically looking at how social media offers an alternative space for members of marginalized communities to simultaneously encounter and generate discourse and a narrative about themselves countering the hegemonic discourse.
Consequently, she is interested in the representation of marginalized groups (specifically women and stateless/Bidoon people in Kuwait) in popular culture.
