For the second year in a row, Temple University’s Klein College of Media and Communication has been named one of Billboard’s top music business schools. A staple on Billboard’s esteemed international list, Klein College continues to boast industry experience, connections and opportunities in the robust media market of Philadelphia.
“It’s really gratifying to receive this recognition for a second year. We’ve always been proud, especially of the incredible work our students do, showcasing them on platforms like Spotify and elsewhere, and it’s really great to see our friends in the industry noticing,” said Jack Klotz, Klein College vice chair of media studies and production and director of the audio and live entertainment major.
Both academic programs have showcased the college’s unwavering commitment to excellence and innovation in music business and education, preparing students for careers that align with their passions and values.
“The major is very versatile,” explained audio and live entertainment major Alex Fisher. “You’re able to learn about all the different avenues of the music industry, many that people don’t know about, that could become potential careers.”
Fisher now works alongside fellow audio and live entertainment student Emma Fox at Warner Music U, a Warner Music subgroup that allows students to work directly with small artists. Both credit the college’s adaptable, hands-on route for their continued success in the industry.
Klein College also provides a collection of real-world media experiences on campus, including a student-managed record label, an array of radio and television studios and endless event management and production opportunities. Students looking to gain national and international exposure can also immerse themselves in major media hubs like Los Angeles, Tokyo and London.
Klein College is committed to shaping the future of the music industry, connecting students with industry professionals and Grammy and Emmy-affiliated alumni, and providing an all-encompassing learning experience in the music business industry.
The collective effort of the college’s dedicated faculty, staff, students and community deserves nothing less than this notable recognition.
