PHILADELPHIA, PA - Klein College of Media and Communication recently signed an exclusive national agreement with Signal AI, one of the leading companies transforming how business leaders make decisions. Access to the Signal AI artificial intelligence platform opens the college to a wide range of opportunities and applications in courses throughout the college as well as marketing.
Signal AI’s platform is at the cutting edge of analytics; in the words of Assistant Chair for Public Relations Gregg Feistman, “To call it just standard media monitoring is an understatement. Signal AI is bringing AI-powered insight, and is fundamentally changing the way communicators create strategy and make decisions.”
With the ability to utilize artificial intelligence to measure sentiment from more than 5 million global news sources a day, Signal AI has already been implemented in select public relations courses at Klein. For instance, courses like Digital Analytics and Crisis Communication have already begun to use the platform. It also has applications in communication for social influence courses as a tool for measuring sentiment online and facilitating conflict resolution.
“We’re educating our students with the knowledge and skills of the tools employers are demanding,” Feistman said. “It’s critical our students understand and track audience perceptions as news and events occur in real time. The use of this software in the classroom enables our PR students to gain audience insight and create effective PR campaigns.”
In addition, Feistman hopes to continue to use the platform outside of the classroom as a marketing and recruitment tool for Klein. As the only college in the country with access to this innovative tool, he hopes to set the standard for his public relations students.
Signal AI was born from a university partnership at The University of Essex, and is known for collaborating with students from universities around the world. As advertising and public relations students prepare to enter the workplace, Signal AI looks to expose them to the latest tools and techniques they will need when they begin their careers.
According to Louis Cointepas, Vice President, Americas Customer Success & Market Development at Signal AI, “The genesis and success of our company has always been in large part due to our collaborations with academia. Through this deal with Temple University, we are looking forward to sharing our pioneering technology with tomorrow’s business and communications leaders."
