A message from Dean Boardman
It’s my pleasure to welcome you to learn more about the Lew Klein College of Media and Communication at Temple University. Situated in the nation’s fourth-largest media market and the birthplace of the First Amendment, ours is one of the most exciting places in the world to study these disciplines.
Here at Klein College, we like to say students can “Learn it by living it.” Our faculty are a magical mix of scholars and practitioners, and they work together to provide our students with both a strong theoretical foundation and the practical skills they will need to become effective, ethical leaders in their fields.
Opportunities to hone those skills abound here, from Temple University Television – recently named the No. 1 college television station in the nation by its peers – to our award-winning student media outlets, our student-run advertising and public-relations agencies, and our nationally recognized Philadelphia Neighborhoods news site. All of these outlets leverage our location in a vibrant urban community. We also offer a variety of study-away options, from our Temple campuses in Rome and Tokyo to domestic programs in Los Angeles, New York, Washington, D.C. and elsewhere.
By the time you graduate, you’ll be fully prepared to launch a successful career – whether that is as an advertising account executive, or a social-media manager, or a foreign correspondent, or a play-by-play announcer, or a college professor, or a lawyer, or any of the array of professions you can pursue with a degree from Klein.
Our graduates go on to greatness, from Pulitzer Prizes, to Academy and Emmy and Grammy awards, to Rhodes Scholarships. They are thriving and making a difference in the world.
So please enjoy your visit to Klein’s website, and we look forward to welcoming you to our beautiful campus sometime soon.
