Temple University will be holding its third annual Wellness Day on Friday, October 11, 2024. No classes or assignments will be due on Friday to give students a break and de-stress from classes.
Check out these tips to make the most out of your Wellness Day!
- Temple’s Ambler Campus is offering a free Wellness Day event from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Busses will be provided to and from the main campus starting at 10 a.m. and early departure starting at 2 p.m. Students can also take the SEPTA, as passes will be provided. The day will include food trucks, nature walks, esports gaming, candle-making and more. Registration is required for the event and submissions must be made by October 8.
- During the week of October 7 to 11, the Wellness Resource Center will be giving away free tote bags with prizes and other resources. Students can pick up their free bag in the Wellness Resource Center, located in the Howard Gittis Student Center from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Autumn is on the horizon, and Philadelphia has plenty of activities to do on the day off. The Eastern State Penitentiary is hosting Halloween Nights with haunted houses, historical tours and live entertainment. Located in Franklin Square, Historic Philadelphia turned Philly Mini Golf into Spooky Philadelphia. This spin on mini golf modifies the current setup with fog, strobe lights, and Halloween decorations.
- There are also a variety of budget-friendly options in the city as well. Independence National Historical Park, Congress Hall, The Rocky Steps and Statue and Eldreth's Alley all offer free or low-cost exhibits to see and explore.
- Not feeling up to going anywhere? The Wellness Resource Center is offering online tools to reset for the semester. In this guide, it directs students through a series of free services to combat the stress of school. From interactive self-care apps to wallpapers, students can take full advantage of their day off.
Wellness Day is designed to take a break from class and hit the reset button. Take time and get back on track to make the rest of the semester a success!
